Can you believe Pride Fest is only a Month away?! And we have so much to catch you up on!

ree

We are still looking for enthusiastic individuals to help make this event a success.

The Fest plays a crucial role in reminding all of us we are worthy of a beautiul life and supports local LGBTQIA+ initiatives and programs, helping us build a more supportive and inclusive community for all. Last year, our very first PrideFest brought together thousands of people. We can’t wait to see you again this year to celebrate!

Want to be part of the magic?

Come see us at Good Neighbor Day on

September 20th  from 1-4 at Joyner Park.

Good Neighbor Day brings people from all walks of life for a day of food, fun, and family entertainment. By bringing together a mix of cultures, music, ages, and ethnicities, the event celebrates diversity and promotes goodwill among all of Wake Forest's citizens.

Of course we have all our regularly scheduled events happening as well so be sure to check them out by clicking the link below.

A few pictures from the fun we've had this summer...

Thank you to all who have come out! Our Yard Sale Fundraiser was a huge success and no event would be the same without y'all!

Now more than ever, we need to know how to protect our LGBTQ+ community.  Join us at the Wake Forest Library on October 20th to learn what being an ally is really about.  Being an ally isn't just a title, it's action.

Suite Queer explores Queer life and history through music and multimedia, dance and performance art. It is an invitation to people inside and outside the Queer Community to meet, hear one person's experience and understand that what separates us is much less than what unites us.

Come laugh, cry, hope, dance and experience loving acceptance.

Meet The Board: Spotlight On Sam Luce

ree

Sam Luce (she/her) is the co-founder and co-chair of Wake Forest Pride. After moving to North Carolina and coming out as aroace , she quickly realized how much Wake Forest needed an organized LGBTQIA+ community. Inspired to create the space she wished she’d had, Sam helped launch Wake Forest Pride to foster visibility, connection, and belonging for queer and trans folks in the area. She is passionate about building community, celebrating authenticity, and ensuring everyone feels they have a place where they are seen and supported.

When she’s not busy with WFP or running her business, Jubilation Spa, Sam can be found in her garden, at queer book club, exploring new places around the world, or relaxing with her dogs, Darla and Tuna.

(Must take this opportunity to brag on our CoFounder and add that Sam was last year's Neighbor of the Year!)

We know times and days can feel heavy, but community saves. As we enjoy September and enter  October—LGBTQ History Month—and celebrate National Coming Out Day on the very same day as Pride Fest, let this be a reminder: take your time. Be proud of who you are. Support your friends. We’ve got this, together.
